We met Ernesto at the Wimbledon Art Studio Open Days. Through a lot of unremarkable work Ernesto's work shouted out quality, passion and clearly was someone with their own trademark style.
Ernesto's work is an exploration of the human body. His visions relate to the hidden and the concealed. X-Rays, prosthetic's and skin are combined with floral species, which express different notions ranging from intimate self-portraits, artificial substitutes of body parts and symbiosis, whilst always conveying the fragility and attractiveness of flowers. He cultivates and transforms these superimposed structures onto photographic images in an attempt to preserve their beauty and to create a dialogue in combination with the human body. |
