Antique Psyche of Capua Statue
French, early 20th century Psyche of Capua statue.
Signed: '1876' Le. G. Pecoraro.
Formed from marble, the condition is generally very good but there is a hairline crack to the neck perhaps indicative of an old break it is seamless (see photos).
The rare statue that looks at home in a contemporary apartment or a country house.
Found badly mutilated in the amphitheatre at Capua, this sculpture may be incorrectly named and more likely represents Aphrodite.
