A stunning contemporary craniometer.
Based on a late 19th century example made in Braunshweig Germany.
They were designed to take precise measurements in an attempt to determine personality characteristics through cranial anatomy.
Reproduced at an extremely high quality by a UK based artist.
Each Craniometer is unique, it comes complete with a full size resin human skull which sits securely on a cradle but is removable.
This one has 40 removable steel pins each one treated with a hot blue process as used on the barrels of fine shotguns and firearms.
It stands approx. 70cms tall, 60cms wide and 66cms deep.
