Italian 'Metafora' marble and onyx coffee table base by Lella and Massimo Vignelli for Martinelli Luce.
The four geometric shapes, a cube, a cylinder, a sphere and a pyramid are made out of marble and onyx.
Made in Italy, 1970s.
Inspired by the four forms of Euclidean geometery, the cube, the pyramid, the cylinder and the sphere.
The forms can be positioned in different positions to taste and can need not be in a square. The glass is very thick a testament to the quality of the piece.
The condition is generally very good, there is a small nibble to the triangle, and a small chip to the underside of one side of glass.
